The Finance & HR function in Esautomotion. Orderly management and planning for profitable growth.
In increasingly complex and unstable industrial and economic scenarios such as the current ones, Esautomotion’s Finance & HR function has the task of predicting, evaluating and managing any threats to the company’s financial solidity, mitigating their impact to guarantee stability and resilience in the long term and profitably drive the business towards new economic paradigms.
Alongside this, Esautomotion is a joint stock company. It is listed in the Milan Stock Exchange and therefore subjected to a series of obligations which regard information towards shareholders and the market, the performance of the company, its transparency and accounting regularity: these are all responsibilities which refer by definition to the administrative area.
Since 2018 Giulio Baraldi has been the Finance & Human Resources Manager of Esautomotion.
“I joined Esautomotion with a degree in Economics and several years of experience in manufacturing and service companies in the field of management control behind me” – Giulio Baraldi declares – “My choice was motivated by the possibility of living in first person the experience of listing in the stock exchange, which was contemporaneous to my entry: a fascinating and fundamental opportunity for those, like me, who have undertaken a professional career in the administrative sector”.
Rigorous control and maximum transparency to protect shareholders.
“My team of 5 people takes care of all the administrative, accounting and financial services of Esautomotion” – Baraldi highlights – “More specifically, we are responsible for the supervision of the full administrative processes (Accounting, Treasury, Purchasing, Warehouse, HR, Invoicing and Credits), guaranteeing compliance with the regulations and procedures throughout the Controlling, Budgeting and Forecasting process, with a particular focus on the preparation of the financial statements and tax returns”.
“Going into more detail, among the main tasks of my function there is also the evaluation of the economic implications of management decisions, as well as the proposal of possible interventions to allow the company to maximize its profitability, reduce the tax burden and financial charges through appropriate management of relationships with our tax consultants and banks” – underlines Baraldi.
“For sure, one of the most challenging aspects of my job is being able to stay up-to-date on tax and legal matters, as well as overseeing risk management and supervising compliance activities according to the legal regulations of the sector, in Italy and in the countries where we are present with a direct branch”.
Different accounting principles and bureaucracy: the issues of an international network.
“Esautomotion is an international company with various direct branches around the world and a network of dealers. The contribution of our subsidiaries is fundamental for the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, which is constructed by incorporating, through appropriate adjustments and additions, the accounting entries of each branch” – Baraldi underlines again – “Outside Europe, the accounting principles and taxes can change significantly, see Brazil, a country which has truly intricate regulations.”
“I also deal with issues relating to the opening of new branches abroad, which translates into encounters/clash with local bureaucracies. Even in this case, the reality is very changeable: we move from the USA, where a company can be set up in one day, to other countries, such as Turkey, where several months are required with the presentation of very extensive documentation. Flexibility and patience are certainly fundamental attributes for managing these situations but, I must say, fortunately they are not lacking in us Italians who have trained with the Italian bureaucracy, notoriously second to none in terms of complexity and delay” (he smiles).
