The end of a year is always a time to take stock and assess the results achieved and to define objectives and priorities for the new year.

Esautomotion’s top management wanted to comment on the company’s performance in 2020, anticipating news and prospects for 2021.

“Think different and better”

It is indisputable that 2020 was very special, dominated by the Covid-19 emergency. Compared to the forecasts formulated at the beginning of the first lockdown, the year ended in a truly satisfactory way and the prospects appear excellent also for 2021 “- says Andrea Senzolo -” The moments of crisis require us to “think differently and better” and it is what we have done, turning a potentially negative external contingency in our favor ”.

“The word“ optimization ”has been the mantra of these months: we have intervened on the organizational structure by adopting smartworking for almost all the employees, in particular for those residing far from the headquarters. In this case, the challenge was to maintain normal levels of internal efficiency in an unprecedented and unpredictable context. I would say that we have fully succeeded: thanks to smartworking we have intervened remotely and in real time on our customers around the world. After such a convincing test, we have decided that smartworking will remain in the future, obviously in a reduced form. In addition, we have re-analyzed all internal processes, making them leaner and more fluid. Overall, these and other interventions have allowed us to reduce time and costs, improving margins and, above all, further raising the level of service “.

Strong commercial dynamism, driven by the Chinese market.

“In commercial terms, in addition to maintaining the existing customer base, we have finalized new commercial agreements in China, Turkey and Spain / Portugal.”

“The China market has started to grow again, starting from the recovery of customers already dealing and to which important contracts were added in the last months of 2020. Esautomotion technology has entered the Chinese production sites of famous international brands such as Tesla, BMW and CRRC, known for the extremely rigorous quality standards required of suppliers. BMW’s Chinese production pipeline will use Laser machines with CNC VIS-600 Esautomotion: in particular, an extremely complex machine has been approved which, by using two mirrored bridges at the same time, has significantly improved the productivity of the cutting process of sheet metal parts, ensuring an optimal integration of the process into BMW’s Industry 4.0 logic ”. The prestigious credential of this case history has allowed us to increase our penetration in Yawey – China, the No. 1 manufacturer of bending machines in the world. In 2020 our CNCs were installed on more than a quarter of their output, plus the contract for the supply of VIS-600 CNCs on their laser machines: Yawey is on its way to becoming the No. 1 Customer of Esautomotion.

Esautomotion has also entered Tesla’s production pipeline: our CNCs will, in fact, be present in their Waterjet machines. Our reputation as a leader in Waterjet technology and the ability of our CNC systems to integrate into their Tesla Industry 4.0 network have been our winning weapons. CRRC China Raliway Constr. is the largest manufacturer of rolling stock in the world (in the Fortune 500 world ranking it is at number 54), its trains have conquered the world market thanks to cutting-edge technologies that have ousted the historical leaders of Europe and the United States. CRRC contacted us in mid-2020 because a well-known German CNC supplier of theirs was unable to solve a series of complex problems for the production of a very sophisticated 5-axis laser machine. Well, I can proudly say that, in December of last year, the joint team of Esautomotion and CRRC technicians managed to homologate the first prototype of this machine. Based on the enthusiasm for this result, CRRC wanted to sign an exclusive contract with Esautomotion that already in 2021 provides for the delivery of 33 laser machines equipped with our CNCs “.

“However, there is not only China in the future of Esautomotion. I would like to point out the constant increase in the Turkish market. Alongside loyal customers, new local companies in the marble and wood sector have recently entered the portfolio. These are two historical areas for our CNCs in which we can boast an absolute know-how and reputation on a global scale ”. “In 2021 we also expect important performances in North America, as a result of the investment in the structure started in 2019 and which is proving to be rewarding.”

The commercial strategy for 2021

“We hope to continue along the lines of recent years: expansion of the distribution network,“ close-to-the-customer ”service, continuous technological innovation. At the market level, China remains a priority for us, given the incessant growth of its economy. The Esautomotion China production site will begin to operate by mid-2021 as a result of the “physical” integration between our Chinese branch and 2 key Italian suppliers / partners: a strategic step to further customize and refine the offer and customer service local. In Turkey, given the excellent performance, we will work alongside a technical / commercial officer dedicated to the local distributor. In the USA we will strengthen the technical area with the entry of an on-field manager. No upheavals, a winning team does not change ”. “In terms of product, the central event will be the launch, in the second half of the year, of the VIS-800 CNC series. We previewed it in September 2020 at the Shanghai fair and the feedback was very positive. Overall, I look to 2021 with confidence, we have many arrows in our bow to reach ambitious goals ”.

New professional skills and innovative technologies to grow further

They are people with high professional skills in advanced numerical control systems: Francesca and Lorenzo will certainly give a strong impulse both to the search for innovative solutions in control systems and to the efficiency and productivity of production laboratories “. “As far as products are concerned, a full calendar of launches is planned for 2021. As anticipated by Andrea, the highlight for 2021 will be the introduction of the VIS-800 CNC family: it is the proposal of top-of-the-range Esautomotion numerical controls, which was created to offer customers digital-only and ultra-fast connectivity, greater computing power thanks to the latest generation industrial processors and a more modern and user-friendly HMI ensured by GlassOnly 100% Full Touch screens. In the second quarter of 2021 we will present the new range of EBS drives, a significant evolution of the current proposal with an expansion of the power range, new processors, confirmation of the Ethercat connection and certifications additional security. To this will be added, in the same period, an important line-extension for the ED motors, completely redesigned in the electronics and with a more compact case.
