Accuracy and flexibility. The activity of the Press Brakes & Metalforming working group.
CNCs for bending represent, alongside those for sheet metal cutting, the core business of Esautomotion and an area in which the company has developed, over the years, an exceptional technological and experiential know-how.
Behind this success is the commitment of a highly qualified and motivated team of engineers and designers.
A sector that is constantly changing in search of maximum efficiency.
“In recent years, bending machines have undergone a great technological evolution to be able to perform increasingly complex processes” – declares Marco Pedroni, head of the Press Brakes & Metalforming group – “Today, this department is the central link of the value chain in the workshop. : it must be adapted to the high productivity of the most recent cutting machines, primarily lasers, in order not to become the bottleneck of production “.
“It is not an easy challenge to win because this process is by far greater complexity and criticality than cutting” – underlines Pedroni – “Maximum precision and high execution speed often don’t get along”.
“In this scenario, the numerical control is not only the brain of the bending machine but, above all, a critical efficiency driver” – highlights Pedroni – “It must manage the import of complex parts in 3D and correctly program the bending. Our turn-key software allows you to better control this phase and to carry out all the necessary simulations avoiding any downtime, so as not to negatively impact productivity “.
“Furthermore, not a secondary factor, the CNC is the device with which the operator continuously interfaces in his work: it must therefore have an extremely clear and intuitive HMI, an aspect to which we devote a lot of attention”.
Customization: a fundamental asset of Esautomotion.
“One of the most important advantages that Esautomotion offers to customers, and which sets us apart from the competition, is the ability to customize our CNCs according to their needs, both in terms of automation and HMI. This implies a very thorough knowledge of implants and materials. The adjustment of the rotation axes can be extremely long and complex: we have managed to make several presses work side by side in tandem with dozens of different rotation axes! An additional difficulty that we face is the current qualitative inconstancy of the sheet, whose behavior has a decisive impact on the calculation of the bend angle. Often, we have to carry out long simulations and numerous corrections before reaching the desired angle “.
Know the needs of the target and foresee the trends of the sector.
“Our scouting activity is incessant because our sector is, as already mentioned, always evolving. We have continuous contacts with the most important OEMs in the world to be updated on their latest technological developments, which must never catch us unprepared. Many countries, the public support plans for the industry activated to get out of the Covid emergency are motivating end users to replace their machinery with new, more performing plants in line with Industry 4.0. The geography of our business is also changing: new players they are emerging from emerging countries such as, for example, Turkey, where we will shortly open a direct branch of Esautomotion to better seize the great opportunities offered by the local market ”.
Smart thinking, smart working.
“The Press Brakes & Metalforming team, as well as that of Cutting, is not a rigidly centralized structure but has collaborators in several countries according to the required professional skills and / or linguistic familiarity with the reference markets. Since the machines at the end users are connected to the internet, we have the possibility to intervene remotely 24/7, making geographical proximity irrelevant “.
At the moment the Press Brakes & Metalforming structure consists of:
2 technicians in Spain for Service and installations
2 technicians in Turkey for Service and installations
1 technicians in India for Service and installations
2 product developers at the Carpi (Mo) HQ
1 technician responsible for automation.
“Obviously, we work in close collaboration with the Esautomotion sales offices in various countries and with the Hardware and Software R&D here in Carpi to find effective and” creative “solutions (being Italian helps) to the problems that customers pose to us.”
“I am proud to lead a team of wonderful people, characterized by high engineering and IT skills, motivation, result orientation and, of course, flexibility, which is not surprising for those who, every day, have to think to how to “bend” the sheet Metal (smiles) “.
