Esautomotion and Maxphotonics enter into a strategic collaboration for fiber laser cutting
The agreement combines Esautomotion’s expertise in CNC systems and motion control with Maxphotonics’ technological leadership in laser sources, cutting heads, and applications, with the aim of developing integrated, competitive solutions for machine manufacturers.
Esautomotion and Maxphotonics have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a strategic cooperation framework covering industrial laser systems, CNC systems, motion control, software, and integrated automation solutions. The initiative brings together complementary technological and commercial capabilities and turns them into a concrete proposition for OEMs in the laser industry.
Two industrial histories, one shared vision
Esautomotion’s technological roots date back to 1962. For more than sixty years, the company has contributed to the evolution of numerical control, developing hardware and software platforms for industrial automation and recognized expertise in sheet metal processing. Today, Esautomotion solutions control machines from 3 to 128 axes and are supported by an international network of subsidiaries, partners, and technical service teams.
Founded in Shenzhen in 2004, Maxphotonics is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fiber laser sources and optical components. The company has more than 7,000 employees, over 600 patents, and an international service network spanning more than 15 support locations, serving customers in over 80 countries.
A market that demands integration and speed
The project enters one of manufacturing’s most dynamic segments. According to the latest estimates from Fortune Business Insights, the global laser cutting machine market was worth approximately USD 6.85 billion in 2025 and could exceed USD 18 billion by 2034. Asia-Pacific is already the leading region, while the largest manufacturers have reached production volumes of several thousand machines per year.
In this environment, assembling high-quality components is no longer enough: competitive differentiation comes from the ability to integrate control, motion, laser source, cutting head, application software, and process support into a stable, repeatable system that can be industrialized rapidly.
From initial integration to joint development
The first phase of the collaboration will focus on integrating Maxphotonics software and application know-how into Esautomotion’s CNC platform, through joint technical adaptation, testing, validation, and optimization activities. The reference platform will be the ViS-890W, Esautomotion’s flagship CNC featuring a 32-inch vertical Megawide display, EtherCAT connectivity, and control of up to 128 axes.
In subsequent phases, the two teams may extend their work to more advanced software functions and applications such as laser cutting, tube processing, multi-axis systems, and other industrial technologies. The agreement also includes coordinated promotion, business development, technical support, training, and field application engineering activities.

A partnership built for the global market
Esautomotion and Maxphotonics will coordinate solution positioning and commercial activities in selected segments and regions. In China, solutions based on Maxphotonics technologies will be prioritized; in international markets, the two companies will promote integrated configurations combining Esautomotion CNC systems and software with Maxphotonics laser sources, cutting heads, and technologies.
“We are very proud to launch this collaboration with Maxphotonics. Our know-how and portfolio of sheet metal processing solutions complement their expertise in laser sources and cutting heads, enabling us to offer machine manufacturers a more complete technology ecosystem, reduce development time, and strengthen the competitiveness of their projects in international markets,” says Andrea Senzolo, General Manager of Esautomotion.
“We are truly pleased with the partnership with Esautomotion” – Jason Sun, President of Maxphotonics declares – “The significance of this strategic cooperation lies not only in the new collaborative model formed between Maxphotonics and Esautomotion, but also in the fact that it reflects Maxphotonics’ consistent commitment to open cooperation and the integration of global resources”.
